Help us celebrate 10 years of Boke Bowl!

November 23, 2021

Celebrating 10 years of Boke Bowl!!!

Please join us to celebrate this milestone as we turn “10”! We’ve missed seeing all of your (masked) faces…. We are giving our staff this week OFF through Thanksgiving, and we will be open starting Black Friday to kick off our anniversary weekend.

Its been a wild ride, especially this last two years of unprecedented restaurant closures and uncertainty. This Thanksgiving season, we wanted to take the time to thank our loyal customers for continuing to support us. We are humbled by how much you all still love Boke!

We get a lot of questions about our West side location at  NW 18th & Northrup, and we wanted to officially announce that we’ve moved on from that space. We are instead solely operating our flagship SE Water Ave location, as it continues to thrive after 10 years. Things look a little different after a decade, as we are only open Wednesday through Sunday. We’ve added many new items, but don’t worry, you’ll always know where to find fried chicken steam buns and brussels sprouts salad when you get a hankering.

Thanks Portland, we couldn’t have done this without you. Here’s to the next 10 years.

Boke By the Numbers, a 10-year inventory

30,000

The number of GALLONS of our handmade Dashi we’ve simmered from scratch. We take pride in our method, and the time we put into our broth is so worth it!

Our current offerings are Pork Dashi, Caramelized Fennel (vegan) Dashi, and everyone’s favorite Fall seasonal, Duck Dashi.

7

The number of Pickathon Music Festivals we’ve had the privilege of being apart of. We can’t wait to see you all in 2022

317

The number of people we’ve employed over the decade. We know our staff has been a big reason why our customers keep coming back.

642,350

The staggering number of hand rolled steam buns that have been mixed, portioned, rolled out, proofed and steamed between the two restaurants.

9

The number of Boke Babies that have been born to staff and owners in our history. At Boke, we believe family is everything, and we’ve had the privilege of watching your own families grow over the years.

Its also been fun seeing our own kids using our dinosaur chopsticks and stuffing their faces with PB & J steam buns. Our menu truly has something for every age and palate.

27,075

Pounds of fresh Brussels Sprouts we’ve fried up for everyone’s favorite salad. We laugh when people ask us if its still on the menu!

7,138

The number of meals since the pandemic began, that we have prepared and delivered to shelters across Portland through Stone Soup Organization.
