This week we are lucky to have Luke Bradford of Cor Cellars pouring three fantastic wines from the Columbia Gorge. Luke will be pouring the following wines:
- Refreshingly different, this wine is made with a nod to the Alsatian wines of Northern France. Gewurztraminer adds spicy honeysuckle and floral spring aromas, while the Pinot Gris contributes vibrant pear and melon, refreshing acidity, and structure. The grapes are co-fermented in a concrete tank for 5 months.
2014 “Rosae,” Rosé of Cabernet Franc, Mckinley Springs Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills AVA
- One acre of Cabernet Franc is farmed specifically at the vineyard for rosé production. The rosé grapes are picked earlier than those used for red wine production. This allows the acidity and freshness of the fruit to be highlighted. After harvesting, the fruit is crushed and cold soaked for 18 hours before being pressed off, settled, and fermented in stainless steel.
2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, McKinley Springs Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills AVA
- This classic wine, aged in 100% oak barrels, was made as a throw back to the old world Bordelais style. It seeks a balance of opulence and structure, fruit and length. Luxuriously ripe and aromatic, with black cherry, allspice and chocolate, this wine also holds its freshness on the palate and throughout the finish.
As usual the tasting is complimentary, and wines will be discounted Thursday only!
