Giant & Exciting Week: Wine, Music, Tennis, Menu Launch

August 27, 2019

An Extraordinary Week at Tavern on Kruse…

Summer Menu, Adelsheim Wine, Jazz, US Open Tennis Party

SUMMER “GREATEST HITS” MENU LAUNCHES THIS THURSDAY

Heirlooms are finally edible (by our standards), Hermiston watermelons came in last Thursday (6-8 weeks late), we wrote cherries into the coming menu last Friday and my chef told me that his supplier alerted him this morning that “top-notch-cherry season will last less than two weeks this year” (so we wrote blackberry recipes).
Chef Nate and I decided that our summer menu is going to run so briefly that we were going to bring back the “Greatest Summer Hits” of 2016-2018 and plan to launch our fall menus as early in the fall as possible.
It’s been a tough summer to be a “farm-to-fork” restaurant. Chef Nate and I thank you very sincerely,
SOME KICK-@#$ JAZZ THIS SAT.

BIG SCREEN TELECAST OF THE US OPEN FINALS – FOR A CAUSE!

You wouldn’t know it, but I am a former tennis pro and am on the board of a group that keeps about 75 very young and very at-risk kids caught up in school and running around North Portland tennis courts instead of letting them go home to latchkey-kid situations.
This Sunday at Tavern, we will be doing a ticketed buffet happy hour from 1:00, with two projection systems set up, one with the live Men’s finals and the other with a replay of the Women’s Finals. Everything you need to know can be found by clicking the links below!
If you’re a tennis fan and, like me, am tired of watching Grand Slam finals alone, buy a ticket!
