Valentine’s and Winemaker’s Dinner
I wish I could say life is returning to normal now that the weather and the inauguration are behind us, but I think we all know that is not the case. Many of you will already have seen this information on Facebook, but I also know an equal number of our readers don’t look at Facebook and rely on these emails for information about what is going on with Viola Wine Cellars. So – here’s something new I worked on this week and if you are inclined, we’d love to add you to the list of supporters.
THE IMMIGRANT T-SHIRT
While this is a business newsletter, and I have, throughout my career, worked hard to keep business and politics separate, the times seem to be changing in a manner none of us really are accustomed, and I feel it important to be active and vocal as we all walk through the new reality that our country now faces.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun while we’re at it, right? So – we’ve taken the image of The Immigrant from our Primitivo bottling, and put together this T-shirt in an effort to help raise some funds to combat hate and intolerance and continue the work toward acceptance and diversity in this country. If you’re in favor of that, please consider purchasing one and helping us raise some funds. All proceeds will be divided 50/50 between IRCO and the ACLU. Here’s the details:
The Immigrant T-Shirt (pictured above) is now on sale for $22, and is available in Men’s and Women’s styles (note Womens run small so you might want to size up). We are accepting pre-orders through our website at www.violawines.com or by emailing me back with your size request.
Ordering will remain open until February 15th. We’ll have a pickup party at the tasting room in March when you can collect your shirt, or alternatively we can mail it to you for a small shipping fee or you can pick it up at the winery if that is more convenient for you. Thanks for considering it.
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
That’s right, folks. It’s that time of year again when the idea of chocolate and wine and love all come together in the best possible way – to share with your sweetheart on a day singled out for just such jovial festivities. This month, we’re partnering with some new friends for 3 fun events in the coming weeks plus the tasting room will be business as usual. Please consider joining me at one or all. I’d LOVE to see you soon!
TASTING ROOM OPEN: Fridays – February 10, 17 & 24 from 2pm – 7pm
I’ll be pouring flights every Friday this month at the Tasting Room on Alberta Street. And I’ll be grabbing some fun random wines from the cellar to add to the mix, so be sure to stop in and see what we’ve got open on the bar. $10 tasting fee always waived with the purchase of 2 bottles or more of Viola wines.
LOVE: Urban & Local Wine Tasting @ The Magnolia
Viola will be there this Friday, February 10th from 7-10pm

VIOLA CLUB MEMBERS – Pickup your Winter Releases
The Winter Wines that are part of our Viola Club program are ready to pickup now anytime until April 1. Just a reminder that we release wines 3 times a year to our Viola Club – right around February 1, June 1 and October 1. The February releases include our 2015 Immigrant Primitivo (with $1 donation going to IRCO for every bottle purchased between now and March 31) and the 2015 Sauvignon, a new creation using the organic grapes from the Allegre Vineyard, but this time aged in Acacia wood for a very different, deep and intense result. Come and get your wines now if you haven’t already. Supplies are limited, so don’t miss out on your allocation. Club Members must pick up their wines by April 1 or make arrangements to pay for them before then if you need us to hold them longer.
