Barkada’s Chef Melvin is cooking up something wild with Melvin Brewing
(Portland, OR) Melvin Brewing’s first madness themed pop-up dining experience will take place on September 29th in Portland, Oregon. Chef Melvin, from the esteemed Food Network Show “Cooks vs Cons” will be presenting a Filipino inspired tasting experience with the award-winning Melvin Brewing’s IPAs. Chef Melvin has been busy building his culinary empire and is excited to be back at Barkada sharing his passion for flavors and culinary design. “Barkada”, meaning “close friend” in Filipino is fitting as Melvin Brewery loves the Portland community So come check out the ‘Melvin’s’ as they twist and innovate with Filipino food and West-Coast Wyoming beers.
At this event, Chef Melvin will be cooking two of his dishes from the September 6th episode,”Spice and Ice.” His first course is a Filipino Curry made with ice pops! You will enjoy this knockout dish paired with Melvin Brewing’s Drunken Master IPA. In the second round, Chef Melvin will use black beans and Shrimp to create what renowned Chef Alex Guarnashelli called her “favorite bite of the day.” Imagine this Filipino Shrimp and Black Bean Fritte with ice-cold Hubert MPA!!
