2021 Fizzy by Nature Viognier

Fullerton Wines, a local winery with a Portland wine bar and tasting room, will launch its latest creation, 2021 Fizzy by Nature Viognier bubbles, just in time for Mother’s Day this weekend, starting on Friday, May 6. The fun bubbles pair exceptionally well with Fullerton’s oysters, available at its tasting room and restaurant in Northwest Portland. Swing by Fullerton Wine Bar and Tasting Room to pick up a bottle as a last minute gift for mom or even better, bring her in for Mother’s Day weekend to try a glass (or bottle!) with Fullerton’s bistro menu. Indoor seating and outdoor covered, heated seating is available.
The 2021 Fizzy by Nature Viognier is a pure Willamette Valley Viognier from Dion Vineyard in the Laurelwood AVA, a pétillant natural wine. Fullerton worked with nature to create the sparkling wine with very little intervention, pressing whole clusters of grapes and maintaining only the first and second pressings to preserve the natural acidity and delicate floral aromas. The Fizzy by Nature pours as a very hazy, pine/apple color with funky, floral aromatics of white raspberry, quince past, hazelnut, passionfruit and anise, paired with a fizzy palate full of grapefruit, apricot, elderflower and delicious pastry dough.

ABOUT FULLERTON WINES
Fullerton Wines explores the rich and varied AVAs of Oregon by expressing the distinct personality of each vineyard and vintage in the bottle. Founded in the Fullerton family garage in 2011, the winery is a deeply personal family collaboration. Winemaker Alex Fullerton first got into the industry when his father Eric suggested the career path while wine tasting in the Willamette Valley after Alex had just graduated from the University of Oregon in 2010. That conversation led to Alex having a harvest internship with Penner Ash Wine Cellars which started the very next day. When making their first vintage in 2011, Alex and Eric made a few barrels of Pinot Noir. Despite the challenging vintage, the wine impressed and Fullerton Wines was born.
The Fullerton Wine Bar & Tasting Room is authentically Pacific Northwest with a Scandinavian heart that brings a taste of Oregon wine country to Portland. Guests come for hygge hospitality, and wines that explore Oregon’s AVAs. Opened in 2017, the Fullerton Wine Bar & Tasting Room is a cozy and welcoming gathering place for wine lovers to experience the breadth of Fullerton Wines’ selection while enjoying bistro dishes. Guests of the tasting room have the option to sit indoors or outdoors under the heated, covered dining areas.
