May 11, 2015- Portland, Oregon – Over the past few years the Chinatown district has turned into a hot spot destination for a night on the town, notably when duo Eric and Karen Bowler came on the scene.
The owners of the popular bar Tube have joined ChefStable to collaborate on Fortune, a new modern cocktail lounge in Old Town/Chinatown.
Following the same method that made the Tube turnaround so successful, the Bowlers have stripped down the space into a lounge that music mavens and cocktail enthusiasts can soak up.
“Our inspiration came from my travels as a DJ, playing in cities like Chicago, LA or Miami where you find that nightlife is an art. Portland has this amazing food and beverage scene, but rarely does that carry into nightlife. With our partnership with ChefStable we are excited to head in a direction where food, drink, music, and art all come together.”
Offering five nights a week of top DJs from Portland and around the country, each night the music will focus on a different genre making Fortune a haven for music hounds. Fortune combines the energy of a club with the relaxed feel of a lounge bringing an atmosphere that is perfect to start and end your evening out.
Bar manager Tim Traylor leads the cocktail program offering both classic and modern cocktails ranging from the Moscow Mule to the Tequila based Tepina. An American based food menu will be provided by ChefStable Catering, offering bites that are perfect for sharing and socializing.
Located in the iconic Hung Far Low building, Fortune’s frosted door opens to a polished space that boasts high ceilings and a sleek design. The walls are adorned with colorful murals created by local artist Blaine Fontana, sharp mirrors and crafted tall booths. Fortune’s open layout invites folks to gather and encourages groups to come together.
Fortune opens Thursday, May 14th, 2015 and is located at 329 NW Couch Street, open Tuesday-Saturday,
