Art of Tea Blending with Smith Teamaker
On any given day of the week, Smith’s talented team of teamakers are busy formulating and brewing up uncommon blends and single origin teas that offer a drinking experience unlike any other.
On Saturday, February 9th, join Smith Teamaker’s Head of Education Claire Boyer and the rest of the esteemed tea department as they open the doors to the iconic Smith pantry and welcome tea lovers for a special workshop that dives into the exotic art of tea blending. This hands-on class will focus specifically on blending green and white teas along with a variety of caffeine-free herbs and botanicals. During the workshop, Boyer and her fellow teamakers will offer a brief overview of the five main tea categories then lead a guided tasting of several premium teas and botanicals while highlighting the qualities and flavors of each ingredient.
Guests will then have the unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a teamaker, working with a curated pantry of teas and botanicals to create an occasion-worthy blend inspired by something (or someone) meaningful to them. Each guest will leave with twenty plus servings of their signature tea, sending them home with plenty to share with friends and family. Or, even better, a custom gift for their special Valentine.
February 9, 2019 from 6PM – 8PM
110 SE Washington St.
Portland, OR 97214
Workshop is $55 per person. For reservations, please visit SmithTea.com/Events.
