Fall Items and a Recipe from Chef Jose

October 13, 2020

AUTUMN AT MASIA IS HERE

Embrace fall with pumpkin pie xurros, s’mores mochas, and braised lamb

As the season of giving approaches, we at Masia are thankful for the gift of being open and serving guests. We wanted to reach out and say ‘thank you’ for supporting us as we navigate these unknown waters.

As many of you have heard, Ataula is sadly closed for the moment, so if you’ve been missing your tapas and paella fix, come down and see us–we have a large and airy dining room perfect for safe social distance dining as the seasons turn! Reservations available on Resy, walkins always welcome.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

Masia would love to be a part of your Thanksgiving tradition. We are gathering some ideas of what you would like chef Jose to prepare for you. Meal kits or stand-alone turkey, the possibilities are endless. Let us know your requests, email here.

What to do with end of the summer tomatoes?
CHEF JOSE’S TOMATO JAM
Make the most of your end of season tomatoes by making tomato jam and keep a little summer in your fridge for the rainy months to come. Perfect for matching with sheep’s cheese for a charcuterie board or adding some fancy to your favorite grilled cheese.

YIELD 1 QUART

IN SAUCE POT ADD:

1000 gr tomatoes, quartered

300 gr sugar

peeled zest of one lemon and one orange

1 vanilla bean, scraped

2 cinnamon sticks
Simmer everything until tomatoes break down and cook completely
Remove zest, vanilla bean, cinnamon sticks, and blend with immersion blender

Contactless pickup is available! Order for pickup or delivery via DoorDash. For contact-free pickup, just call us at (503) 595 6820 when you arrive and we’ll run your order out to you and place it in the trunk of your car.
