PORTLAND, OR. (August 31, 2017) Humanitarian crises are everywhere in the world these days. We all want to help and make a difference, but sometimes it’s hard to see how to do that. On Sunday, October 22nd, iACT hosts a fun and delicious way to help make a positive impact! From 5:30-8:30 pm, the Lagunitas Community Room will host a fundraiser to benefit iACT, an award-winning international organization that is on a mission to empower and extend hope to refugees facing humanitarian crises in central Africa. This year, iACT is excited to expand its program beyond Chad, and will be opening early childhood programs in the Central African Republic. Their award-winning model of preschool education, called “Little Ripples,” is already making a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of refugee children and their families.
There will be multiple beers available on tap from Lagunitas, wines, and small bites by acclaimed restaurants Le Pigeon, Little Bird, Ned Ludd and Stella Taco. There will be both a live auction and raffle items. Raffle items include a restaurant gift certificate to Le Pigeon, University of Portland basketball tickets, designer sunglasses, and beer packages from Gigantic, Leikam and Lagunitas breweries. The live auction will include a private wine tasting at J. Christopher Winery, and a 7-night all-inclusive stay in Antigua. Live music will be provided by Reduction, a jazz combo made up of professional musicians who are also professional winemakers! Come on out for a lively evening of fun, while giving hope to refugees! Tickets are $15, and advance tickets are available online through http://bit.ly/iACTforRefugees.
