December News from Pigeon & Friends (correction)

December 17, 2019

Pigeon & Friends December News

 Holiday Break

Both Le Pigeon and Canard will be closed for our annual holiday break December 24th through January 2nd to give our staff time with family and loved ones. We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you have a relaxing holiday season. Correcton: We will reopen on Friday, January 3rd, and look forward to seeing you then!

Hey Last Minute Shoppers…

The holiday season is here, and we’ve got the perfect gift package for all you last-minute shoppers out there. New this year, pick up a Le Pigeon gift set, featuring a T-shirt, $50 gift certificate, and a Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird cookbook. Save $15 when you purchase it all together. It is $95 at the restaurant and the holiday pack is also available for delivery for $105. If picking up in person, please pick up your gift bundle from Le Pigeon by or before December 23rd between the hours of 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Check out our website for even more gift ideas!

Heading to a Blazers Game?

Canard is your spot for pre (or post) Blazer’s action. We’re just a brief journey away from the Moda Center. Join us before the game for a pair of Steam Burgers and a glass of wine, or a full meal. We’re here after too, whether they win or lose – we have champagne and a great whiskey selection depending on how it goes.  Happy Hour at Canard runs from 4-5 p.m., and from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Canard’s New Wine Additions

The wine list at Canard is always changing. The wines we offer by the glass change frequently, and the pace of that has been speeding up. There are just so many exciting wines we want to share. A few we are excited about now range from a crystalline Muscadet from Jo Landron, a rough and tumble Kadarka (that’s the grape) from Slovakia, an elegant Haute Cote de Beaune from Jean-Marc Bouley, and a zero sulfur Grenache/Gamay blend from Corbieres and the Northern Rhône. Also, we are psyched to welcome Belle Oiseau, the Alsatian inspired blend made by Belle Pente (originally made for Little Bird), to the lineup.

On the bottle list, we are rearranging the categories again, as we do. We’ve expanded our Chenin and Burgundy offerings, added some more local stuff, and have a page of Cab-based wines for the first time.

We are very excited about our new specials board! Over the last month, we’ve run fun specials of rare Champagnes and Burgundy, aged Riesling, and a selection of wines off our bottle list that we’ve poured by the glass for just a night or two. Check out our Instagram page for announcements about what we are pouring. Upcoming…. well, you’ll have to check it the gram.
