ABOUT ANNE AMIE VINEYARDS
In 2019, Anne Amie Vineyards celebrates its 20th year of acclaimed Oregon winemaking and award winning wines. The winery was founded in 1999, formerly the historic Chateau Benoit Winery, with the vision to create wines of the highest quality. The estate vineyards are split between two locations in the Willamette Valley, featuring a LIVE certified winery in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and the other on the steep slopes of the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Focused almost exclusively on Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, Anne Amie also produces a small amount of estate Riesling and Müller-Thurgau, originally planted in 1979. Winemaker Thomas Houseman employs a light touch in the cellar, using only small fermenters and focusing on indigenous yeast, gravity-flow, extended lees contact and bottle age to bring out the personality of each variety, vineyard and vintage. Only moderate amounts of new oak barrels are used for each vintage in order not to overpower these characteristics. The goal is to produce elegant, terroir-driven wines that emphasize complexity over power.
