Comfort Food for Cooler Weather at Ripe Cooperative

August 26, 2021

THE COMFORT YOU CRAVE
It’s that time of year when the tomatoes just keep on coming. As the weather cools off a tad, we’re transforming them into sauce, soups, and more.

This week, stop by the café to enjoy a comforting yet summery plate of Malfadine Amatriciana with garden tomatoes, peppers, red onion, house pancetta and a generous dusting of cheese.

We’re also unveiling a 2021 edition of a BEAST classic – Gazpacho with heirloom tomatoes, and a panzanella with housemade sourdough, yellow watermelon, and basil oil.

Entertaining or unwinding at home? Pick up the stuff to make Amatriciana yourself with our fresh bronze-cut malfadine pasta, jarred Amatriciana sauce, and Epic Cheese Blend, or pre-order any of our easy, tomato-filled finish-at-home meals, like Eggplant Parmesan or Lasagna Bolognese. Just add a quick salad for a quick dinner!

Many of the tomatoes these days are coming from Naomi’s garden. If you want inspiration on what else you can do with your own garden-full, keep an eye on her Instagram for recipes and videos coming soon.

WE’RE TAKING ON AN ALL-TIME FAVORITE

Speaking of comfort food, we’re taking a classic, all-time favorite ice cream flavor up a notch. Freshly spun Mint Chocolate Chip frozen custard takes our rich sweet cream base and layers in thin strands of dark chocolate and just the right amount of garden-fresh mint. You’ll never look at the green stuff the same again.

Pre-order here before it sells out!

Joining Mint Chocolate Chip this week is another classic, Malted Chocolate. Transport yourself back to the diner days one pint at a time!
