Meet the Wineries!
In an effort to keep you up to date on wineries in Portland we will be featuring one winery a month in an email and on social media. The plan is to give you a couple of highlights in this email and then follow us on Facebook or Instagram to hear more about each winery. We hope you enjoy this snapshot into each of these unique small Urban Wineries.
A big THANK YOU! has to go out to Aliya Hall for taking the time to interview our winery members.
What kinds of wine do you make?
“We specialize in and are a Pinot Noir house. When we started our business plan it was one Pinot Noir and then we realized because Stewart and I have different palettes, let’s bottle what we both like. We have two different styles of Pinot Noir and then we started to geek out, doing more single vineyards and different AVA styles. We’re a Pinot Noir house because again, we want to be a part of every step of the wine making and we want to be out in the vineyard during growing season regularly. Pinot Noir is our everything and we find it super interesting.”
What is your signature wine?
“We have two. My signature wine is my Cuvées. I’m not a marketing person so I couldn’t come up with a good name, so when Stewart and I said, “Well, I don’t really like yours Stewart it’s too thin and light,” and Stewart said, “I don’t like yours Athena it’s too dark and gamey.” It was like, fine, you name yours Stewart and I’ll name mine Athena and we’ll just be accountable for what goes into our wines.”
