Northwest Natural Spirits and Cascade Street Distillery Merge to Become Cascade Spirits
Creators of Wild Roots Spirits acquire Oregon distillery
Northwest Natural Spirits (NWNS) the distillery behind Wild Roots Spirits, acquired Cascade Street Distillery in the first fiscal quarter of 2020. The merge of these two distilleries inspired a name change to Cascade Spirits which now houses Wild Roots, Cascade Street Potato, Broken Top, North Sister, the newly launched Sun Ranch and an upcoming tropical line.
The acquisition bolsters Cascade Spirit’ share in the alcohol market by filling in the whiskey category and makes the company one of the largest distilleries by revenue in the state. Cascade Spirits continues to be privately owned and funded.
“We have always worked hand and hand with Cascade Street Distillery since their founding, advising and assisting with the production of their premium line of spirits. It came to a point where we really saw potential in a few of their products and wanted to transition from a single product line distillery to a spirits brand house,” said Chris Joseph, Cascade Spirits founder and owner. “We look forward to continuing to grow the top-selling Cascade Street Potato Vodka and Broken Top Whiskey lines. We plan to extend the reach of these products through updated packaging and wider distribution.”
The merger is a major growth opportunity for all the brands in the Cascade Spirits family. Cascade Spirits has distribution in 17 states and 12 online retailers with plans to enter 4 more by the end of 2020.
