Cascade Brewing kicks off the summer season with a Garden Party

May 29, 2019 by Food Dude

Event will feature beer, cocktails, live music, games and education on garden conservation

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 29, 2019) –– Cascade Brewing is kicking off the summer season with an outdoor Garden Party. The event will take place on Saturday, June 8, from 1pm to 8pm at the Lodge at Cascade Brewing’s backyard beer garden, located at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.

The rain or shine event will feature beer and cocktails, live music, food specials, games, succulent planting, and information and education about conservation from non-profit partners. The event is free to attend; beer and food cost additional. Guests are invited to dress in their finest garden party attire; prizes will be awarded for the best dressed couple and the best hat.
Highlighting the event will be the release of Cascade’s newest sour ale, Garden Party, a blend of sour blond and wheat ales aged in white wine barrels for up to two years with Willamette Valley-grown chardonnay grapes followed by a late infusion of fresh Meyer lemon zest and dried elderflowers. The perfect beverage for any outdoor soirée, Garden Party delivers the sparkle of champagne, the floral delicacy of elderflowers and the brilliance of sweet lemon zest—bringing refinement and refreshment to the party. Garden Party will be available on draft and in 500ml bottles at both Cascade Brewing’s Lodge and Barrel House locations as well as through distribution markets.
Other beers on tap include Honey Ginger Lime Sour, Mint Condition Gose, Barehander Citra Pale, and The Excursionist International Pale (a collaboration with New Zealand brewery Fortune Favours), plus a Garden Party Punch specialty cocktail and a non-alcoholic house-made fruit spritzer.
Volunteers from Tualatin Parks Nature Center, Clean Water Services, Xerces Society, and Tualatin Valley Beekeepers Assn. will be on site from 1pm to 4pm providing education about conservation, native plants and animals, and environmental practices at home and in the garden. There will also be a succulent planting station, a giveaway of pollinator seed packets, and an hourly raffle for prizes including Cascade swag baskets, whiskey barrel planter boxes, and hanging flower baskets. Proceeds from the raffle tickets will be distributed among the four non-profits.
Guests can enjoy live music from Little Sue from 1pm to 4pm and Shane Brown from 6pm to 8pm. There will also be cornhole games and photo opportunities with the Cascade Barrel.
As no garden party is complete without hors d’oeuvres, Cascade’s Garden party will offer small plates with cucumber sandwiches, stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta. For more information, visit CascadeBrewing.com and engage on social media at CascadeBrewing.
About Cascade Brewing
Cascade Brewing has been a pioneer in the sour beer renaissance since 2006 and is the proud innovator of the Northwest Sour Ale. Its distinctive sour beer blends feature fruit forward, barrel-aged ales with an emphasis on project year-to-year variation. These beers offer a complex array of flavors derived from the acid, the fruit and the residual flavors present in the barrels in which they age. The resulting beers offer a complex array of flavors and aromas derived from with each project year release capturing the unique subtleties of that year’s growing season. Cascade Brewing’s sour ales are brewed and blended in Portland, Oregon; the company also has two taprooms in Portland, the Cascade Brewing Barrel House in Southeast, and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing in Southwest.

If anything like their first location it will be the best coffee in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. Original location is on SW SchollsFerry Road. Even better, it’s next door to Big’s Chicken.
