Boke Bowl welcomes local chefs to showcase dishes inspired by their own menus, with Bhuna’s Deepak Kaul during the month of March.
PORTLAND, Ore. (March 20, 2019) – Boke Bowl is now featuring monthly chef collaborations during their weekend dim sum brunch at their Westside location, offered 11am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays—a unique new way to brunch in Portland! The rotating series will feature a new dish from a guest chef, and debuts in March with Deepak Kaul of Bhuna Restaurant. The special dish, available now through March 31 at Boke Bowl’s weekend dim sum brunch service, is a Kashmiri Paneer with Szechuan pea tips and Korean rice cakes, and it officially kicks off the new series!
April will feature a pizza bao from Tommy Habetz of Pizza Jerk, based on their most-popular pie, It’s Always Sunny in Cully, which is made with Old Saltt pepperoni, pineapple, Bunk hot peppers, basil and Bee Local Honey. Other upcoming collaborations include Acadia Bistro’s Seamus Foran and Executive Chef Sara Woods of Canopy Portland Pearl District. Additional collaborations will continue to roll out throughout the year, each showcasing the flavor profiles and creativity of beloved Portland chefs.
Saturday and Sunday dim sum brunch service is Boke Bowl’s non-faithful recreation of the Cantonese-style, tapas-like, small-plate/pushed cart service—a no-fuss brunch that’s walk-ins only and serves up special and delicious creations, like the Boke Fried Chicken and Waffle that pairs perfectly with their Bloody Mary. It’s a unique brunch experience that goes beyond the typical fare, whether you’re dining alone or bringing in the whole family.
Boke Bowl Dim Sum brunch is offered only at Boke Bowl West, located at 1200 NW 18th, at Northrup, from 11am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

About Boke Bowl
Boke Bowl serves approachable Asian-inspired dishes made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Boke Bowl started as a monthly pop-up experience in Portland, Oregon in September of 2010. After just more than one year, Boke opened a casual ramen shop in Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District. In 2014, Boke opened its second location on NW 18th and Northrup. Their Portland-style ramen is made with handmade noodles, unique slow-simmered dashis and seasonally changing accouterments aimed to satisfy carnivores, pescatarians, vegans and children alike. Thoughtful, time-intensive prep goes into every bowl for a unique layering of flavors and a lighter-feeling broth. Other dishes include house-made seasonal steam buns, fresh salads, house-brined pickles, and miso butterscotch twinkies. Many dishes, including ramen bowls, can be made vegan or gluten-free to help meet the needs of diverse dietary restrictions. Boke also hosts a weekly (Thursdays) Korean Fried Chicken Night at their Eastside location, and weekend Dim Sum brunch service (Saturday and Sunday, 11am-2pm) at their Westside location. Boke Bowl came to fruition in January 2010 when Chef and Co-owner of Boke Bowl Patrick Fleming had an itch to do something different and create a meal that reflected all of his past cooking experiences into one bowl. He then spearheaded the roaming pop-up project with Co-Owner Brannon Riceci at his side—the two having known each other since college. Both Riceci and Fleming pride themselves on the quality of their customer service and employee appreciation. Boke Bowl West is located at 1200 NW 18th, Portland, OR 97209, and Boke Bowl East is located at 1028 SE Water Ave., Portland, OR 97214. Either can be reached at (503)-719-5698 with questions. Both locations are open Monday through Sunday, 11am-9pm, and offer delivery via Caviar.
