Blue Star to offer free donuts for the grand opening of new Division Street location on Friday, November 9th
Portland, Ore. (November 5, 2018) – Portland’s beloved gourmet donut shop will be moving its Hawthorne Boulevard location just a few blocks away to a prime spot at 3325 SE Division Street. The SE Division location will carry the full selection of brioche, buttermilk, and cake donut favorites, as well as special Portland-exclusive donut flavors. They will also feature local roasting darling Coava Coffee’s unique “Blue Star Blend” drip coffee and Nitro Cold Brew, as well as hot teas and Nitro Chai from Smith Teamaker. The current space at 3549 SE Hawthorne Boulevard will soon be occupied by local food cart favorite Fried Egg I’m in Love, as they transition into their first brick-and-mortar location.
“The shop on Hawthorne was actually our second Blue Star location, and for a while it doubled as our full production kitchen,” adds Katie Poppe, CEO and Blue Star owner. “We’ve since outgrown the space, and with full production now going on in our new flagship shop, it’s time to move! The neighborhood has been so good to us, and we’re excited to be moving just a few blocks away to Division Street. ” Blue Star will be nestled in a popular stretch of Division next to other neighbors Salt and Straw and Pok Pok.
To celebrate its newest opening and show its gratitude to the South East community, Blue Star will give a free donut to guests who visit the shop on Friday, November 9th. The grand opening giveaway begins at 3pm with one free donut per person until the last Blueberry Bourbon Basil or Buttermilk Old-Fashioned is claimed. The shop will be open for regular hours beginning Saturday the 10th, 8am until 8pm or sold out.
