March 7, 2021

Le Pigeon Bird Box Menu: March 13th

New Bird Box Menu Alert!
Introducing a brand new menu from the Le Pigeon kitchen, available for pickup on March 13th. We are preparing a limited number of Bird Box meal kits for two each week! Order yours and fly over for pick up, Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.

The menu features a Butter Lettuce Salad; Corned Lamb Shoulder; Green Garlic Risotto; Roasted Rapini with Horseradish; and Bailey’s Tiramisu with Malted Chocolate Biscotti for dessert ($80 for two people).

The Bird Boxes will open for ordering beginning this Sunday at noon (available until sold out) for a Saturday, March 13th pickup, between 12 and 5 p.m. at Le Pigeon.

Andy’s Wine Pairings
Add a bottle (or two) of handpicked wines from our wine director to your Bird Box meal.

Sancerre, Hippolyte Reverdy, 2019, Loire
There were a few sunny days this week and Spring is finally in the air…the pretty floral tones and peachy flavors of this wine remind us of everything we love about the season. Michel Reverdy makes tiny amounts of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir at his families’ Domaine in the village of Verdigny, in the Sancerre region of the Loire Valley. This wine has wonderful texture but is also crisp and mineral-driven (it is aged for 1 year in stainless steel). We think it will really make the flavors in the green-garlic risotto pop and will compliment lamb and rapini as well!

Chinon, Les Grézeaux, Bernarnd Baudry, 2018, Loire
The Loire Valley is famous for its fantastic wines but it is also known for the quality of its cheeses and meats…the local lamb from Touraine is renowned for its top quality and flavor. So, we decided to pair a Loire Cabernet Franc with this week’s entrée. Bernard Baudry studied viticulture in Beane and brings a Burgundian outlook to his winemaking. He chooses to bottle many of his vineyard sites separately in order to better showcase the differences in terroir. The Grézeaux vineyard contains 65-year-old vines planted on gravelly soils and is fermented and aged in concrete tank. The 2018 is a bit more full-bodied than some previous vintages but the wine still has great balance. It smells of black cherries, raspberries, peppercorns and earth.

Ordering Opens Sunday At Noon!
