Ben Fowler Quintet, Aretha Franklin’s Keyboardist, Full Dinner Menu, New Sound System…
“After Hours” Jazz Gets Even Better:
Our shows are getting busy. Here’s what’s to know:
Full Dinner Menu now Available until 9:00pm on Saturdays!
Starting this Saturday, our Executive Chef will be in the kitchen with his team making sure that any Jazz customers wanting a full dinner upon arrival can enjoy just that. We’ll go to our late-night menu at 9:00.
We’re Installing a Live Music Sound System!
The audience has grown to capacity most shows and so we are installing a digital mixing board and multi-amp sound system so that you can hear all the music over the crowd like you would in a “real” jazz club. The room sounds amazing until we’re at about 80% full… and this investment will push Tavern into the big leagues for our full-house shows.
We’re Considering Cover Charges and Ask For Your Feedback
I’m kinda at a loss and I need your help: We’ve had a “voluntary tip/cover” line on credit card slips that isn’t being approached fairly by some guests. Please understand that restaurant margins on a two-hour show don’t cover the financial guarantees I must sign to bring this kind of talent to L.O. on a Saturday night. This jazz program depends on your contributions to the band and, more importantly, professional musicians exist on cover charges and ticket sales (not day jobs). Please be sure to leave the band at least $5 if not $10 per seated guest if you are in to enjoy the shows. You would pay more for a cover anywhere else in the world to listen to this caliber of artistry, right? Does this sound fair? Should we mandate a cover to make sure After-Hours Jazz can endure? Any suggestions or questions or concerns? If so, please reply to this email!
