On Wednesday May 23 Little Bird, in conjunction with the I LOVE GAMAY festival, will host a special dinner pairing some of the most sought after bottles of Beaujolais we could find with a menu created just to highlight their distinct personalities. For this dinner we are featuring three of Beaujolais’ most revered producers and pouring all the wines from magnum. If you are a lover of Beaujolais you will not want to miss a vertical of Clos de la Roilette’s Cuvée Tardive, 2 different Morgon from Foillard from the great 09 vintage including the old vine 3.14 bottling, and 3 Fleurie from Metras including the ’09 l’Ultime, which is about as rare as Beaujolais gets. In order to carry and pour all these BIG bottles we have enlisted Rajat Parr to co-somm the dinner along with co-owner Andy Fortgang.
The dinner will be a great opportunity to try some stupendous wines and learn a bit about Gamay and Beaujolais.
Dinner will begin at 6:30 and will be 3 savory courses followed by a cheese course. The cost is $200, which is all-inclusive (food, wine, and service). Tickets can be purchased here on Eventbrite.
