August 2019 News from Canard

August 15, 2019

Insider Tip: Soft Serve to Go

Did you know you can get Canard’s soft serve to go? Passing by Canard on a warm day but can’t stay? Pop in and grab a cone of soft serve to go! Choose between vanilla, the seasonal flavor Malted Apricot, or a swirl of the two in a cup or peanut butter fun cone. Canard switches up flavors with the seasons. Come in to try the latest invention. Enjoy!

The Oregonian Names Canard Portland’s #1 Best Restaurant

Every year, The Oregonian publishes a list of Portland’s 40 best restaurants, ranked. We are excited to share that Canard was #1 on the list for 2019! Come in and check out what all the fuss is about. Full article available here.

Neighborhood Staycation

The East Burnside neighborhood is bustling and we’re excited about all our new neighbors. It’s a great place for a Portland staycation! Here are some of our picks for how to best experience the neighborhood.

Our longtime friends at The Jupiter Hotel recently opened NEXT next door, a central spot for all your Portland exploring. We’ve personally tested out these rooms, and they’re comfortable with amazing city views. Plus, you can grab a cocktail downstairs at Hey Love without ever leaving the building.

Chef Gabriel Rucker recently took in a post-run soak at Knot Springs. A great place to recover and relax with a soak, full on treatments, and loads more.

Don’t miss happy hour at our newest, Canard. Next door, the Le Pigeon chef’s counter is always open for walk ins, a great way to experience the complex and ever-changing menu from chef Gabriel Rucker. Still hungry? Bar Casa Vale, Erizo or Normandie are great additions to the hood.

New cocktail cave Scotch Lodge, makes for a great nightcap. Beer more your thing? Danish brewery Mikkeller is currently popping up just down the road (701 E Burnside St).

Holiday Closure

Canard will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you have a relaxing holiday. We will re-open on Tuesday, September 3rd at 8am and look forward to seeing you then!
