ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI – in a fight against cancer!

May 7, 2019

Sushi For A Cure – From Uptown to Tavern

Sushi Lovers and Cancer Haters,

One of the most successful Cancer fundraisers in our nation, Sushi For A Cure, will be held this Saturday, May 11 at Tavern on Kruse.

In recent years, the host of this event (my neighbor and tennis buddy) David Kabaker, has topped the American Cancer Society’s list of private fundraisers across our entire country by raising more than $50,000 at his annual event.

This year, the event moves from Uptown Billiards to Tavern on Kruse where you and your friends can enjoy all-you-can eat sushi, take part in a silent auction, reflect upon how cancer has crossed your path and maybe hear a few stories from a few of us.

It was lung and brain cancer that finally took my dad, and it was breast cancer that my wife overcame during the last couple years. David lost his wife almost a decade ago but this event is how he and his family honor her and offer their best effort to keep other’s from reliving his family’s experience.

David and I need your support this year given the change in venues. Our sushi chef, brought from Hawaii specifically for the event, will be creating the same awesome (and all you can eat) sushi he has brought us for the past 6 years.  Come eat amazing food, drink well, make some new friends and maybe a few new memories. If the weather cooperates we will have a few ping pong tables outside, too, so come ready to play.  Help David and the American Cancer Society reach their goal of raising $55K again this year in our fight against cancer.
