Acadia Bistro Mixes Up Mardi Gras Menu

January 23, 2017 by Food Dude

A La Carte and Prix Fixe Options Available

January 23, 2017 – Portland, OR – Acadia Bistro is gearing up for its 15th year of Fat Tuesday celebrations on February 28th, 2017. In addition to the regular a la carte dinner menu, chef/owner Seamus Foran has also created special Mardi Gras entrees that can be ordered on their own, or part of a 3-course dinner:

Mardi Gras Entrees $15 (or 3-course dinner with a house greens salad and King Cake: $25)

Louisiana Wild Catfish cornmeal fried with miso-braised greens and smoked tomato gravy

Cajun Jambalaya with smoked chicken, andouille sausage, house-made tasso and smoked tomato relish

Louisiana White Shrimp Creole with black kale, button mushrooms and spinach

Crawfish Linguine shrimps, sherry-tomato cream and spinach

Smoked Pork Cheeks white bean cassoulet

Confit Chicken Leg jalapeño cornmeal waffle and hot honey

As is Acadia’s tradition, the lucky finder of a toy baby in a slice of King Cake will win a $50 gift certificate. Add on one of the restaurant’s bourbon or absinthe flights or signature New Orleans cocktails and you have one of the best parties in town. Acadia’s friendly staff will be armed and ready with beads and masks to welcome diners starting at 5:00 p.m. Mardi Gras dinner reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling (503) 249-5001.

Instagram post 2188801124419993623_2988593889 New Lionheart Coffee in downtown Beaverton at 1st and Watson opened today. If anything like their first location it will be the best coffee in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area. Original location is on SW SchollsFerry Road. Even better, it’s next door to Big’s Chicken.

Instagram post 2132255118958341690_2988593889 Nice lunch of chicken molé at Mixteca at the Portland Mercado. I hate to say it, but their molé is as good as I make at home (though I’m not a huge fan of chicken breast, theirs was perfectly cooked)
