A New Way to Help Feed Ukrainians from Ripe Cooperative

March 10, 2022

WAYS TO SUPPORT UKRAINIANS.
Today we’re releasing a limited run of Ukrainian Honey Cake Frozen Custard. Proceeds from the pints, featuring creme fraiche custard base, wildflower honey caramel, and graham cookie crumbles, will benefit The Global Foodbanking Network, an aid organization working to stock food banks across Ukraine and bordering nations.

The limited pints are available on a first-come, first-served basis, click here to pre-order yours for pick-up.

For those dining in, throughout the month of March, 100% of the proceeds from our sustainable Bulgarian Caviar with hand-cut potato chips and roasted shallot dip will go to World Central Kitchen, and their relief efforts in Ukraine.

GATHER TOGETHER

As the pandemic eases once again, we are thrilled to see more of you gathering together. Whether you’re dining in or hosting a celebration at home, we’re here to do the work for you.

If you’re joining us in the café this week try our springy new Dutch-grown Asparagus* in a citrus-champagne hollandaise, green garlic powder, Bulgarian caviar, and chervil.

Entertaining at home?  Start with a Cowbell Cheesemonger Cheese Plate, melty Spinach and Dungeness Crab Dip, or perfectly poached Shrimp Cocktail for a full meal. including the Groundwork Organics Broccoli in our Broccoli Cheddar Soup, and

Then, try our Wild Mushroom and Chard Lasagna, Ayers Creek Heirloom Polenta Pie with Cattail Creek Lamb, roasted sweet pepper ragu, and Cantal cheese, or Naomi’s Wedding Chicken to pop in the oven and feed 4-6. Tender mixed greens grown by our good friend George Weppler are great for a quick salad alongside our larger-format dishes.

* A note on our Dutch-grown Asparagus:
At Ripe Cooperative we are committed to supporting local farmers and ranchers, and celebrating the bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Occasionally come across an exceptional product worth bringing in from outside our region, and right now we are loving this white asparagus from the Netherlands. It’s the perfect bridge as we wait for asparagus season to hit Oregon in the coming weeks!
