503 Distilling Earns Best Craft Cocktail-in-a-Can From ADI

September 14, 2021

503 Distilling’s Huckleberry Lemonade Declared Best Ready-to-Drink Cocktail

PORTLAND, Ore. — September 14, 2021 — Portland’s own 503 Distilling earned Best in Class, Best in Category, and a gold medal from the American Distilling Institute (ADI) in its 2021 Craft Spirits Awards for I’m Your Huckleberry Lemonade, a ready-to-drink cocktail in a can. The company was also awarded a silver medal for its Wildfire Cinnamon Rum.

I’m Your Huckleberry Lemonade is a Pacific Northwest twist on a classic cocktail, with mountain huckleberry-infused 503 Vodka blended to 11% ABV with fresh lemonade, then lightly carbonated. ADI awards a gold medal to a spirit that the judging panel believed to be of exceptional quality for its class and category.

Wildfire Cinnamon Rum is spicy and warming, crafted with Ceylon cinnamon and chilis, a touch of brown sugar, and barrel-aged rum, weighing in at 69 proof. The spirit serves as the base for 503 Distilling’s award-winning La Vida Mocha canned cocktail.

“It is such an honor to be recognized by the ADI judging panel once again,” said David Schleef, co-owner of 503 Distilling. “Our team takes so much pride in creating handcrafted cocktails and spirits, and these awards are a direct result of that hard work. They enable us to continue to share our craft with a wider audience of cocktail fans across the Pacific Northwest.”

Founded in 2007,  the Judging of Craft Spirits Awards is the world’s oldest and largest competition dedicated to craft spirits. In 2021, a panel of 36 judges and 5 stewards sampled nearly 1,000 craft spirits to recognize the distillers and blenders that are producing the world’s finest quality artisan spirits.  ADI has become a beacon for the craft distilling community, providing their global network of small-batch, independently-owned distillers with a go-to source for craft distilling information.

503 Distilling’s craft cocktails are sold in 12-ounce, ready-to-drink cans. The cocktails, along with the company’s handcrafted bottled spirits, are sold in fine retailers throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California, and are available for ordering and shipping to Oregon addresses at www.503distilling.com and engage on social media at @503Distilling.
