2019 Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival finds new home and new breweries April 5-7

March 11, 2019

The 7th annual Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival returns April 5-7th in a new spacious outdoor venue at Glendoveer Golf Course next to Von Ebert Brewing East. The Pacific northwests premiere showcase of rustic farmhouse ales and mixed culture and wild yeast beers has switched to an invitational format with single day sessions featuring unique breweries from across the country. Advanced tickets are on sale now for this one-of-a-kind beer fest the likes of which you rarely see in Portland or anywhere in the U.S.

Partnering with Von Ebert Brewing, the Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival has found a new venue amongst the trees and grass, adjacent to where brewer Sean Burke is building a spontaneous and oak rustic barrel brewing program. The location at Glendoveer Golf Course also features free parking with plenty of spaces and the full-service restaurant and brewery for all-ages next door to the fest at Von Ebert. The 2019 Farmhouse Fest expansion allows the event to focus on the breweries and their beer, making each day a showcase for individual breweries both local and visiting with over 30 represented in total.

This years lineup features the 10th best brewery in the world (according to RateBeer) Sante Adairius, Seattle’s destination worthy Holy Mountain Brewing, North Carolina’s agriculture-driven Fonta Flora Brewing and gothic Burial Beer Co., Texas’s zealots Jester King, Colorado’s masters of bugs Crooked Stave Artisan Beer, Saint Louis’s inspired Perennial Artisan Ales and even Vermont’s foraged Wunderkammer Bier out of Hill Farmstead.

With more national flavor than ever before, organizers have not ignored their backyard where farmhouse breweries run rampant. Beer geeks already line-up on the Oregon coast for De Garde Brewing’s beers but will find them readily available at the fest, the same goes for Eugene’s Alesong Brewing & Blending and Bend’s The Ale Apothecary and Hood River’s pFriem Family Brewers. The Portland and Washington area is well represented as well with Upright Brewing, Garden Path Fermentation Project, Little Beast Brewing, Ruse, Propolis, and many others which make this year’s lineup the most exciting yet.

Individual, single-day tickets are now on sale for the limited capacity Friday VIP evening session, Saturday GA or Sunday GA and a special discounted Saturday & Sunday package. See below for which breweries to expect on which day (some info is subject to change.)

ABOUT Von Ebert Brewing

Von Ebert Brewing is owned and operated by Tom Cook, Dennis January, Eric Simko and Tom S. Cook.  Von Ebert Brewing was named after Tom S’ Great Grandmother Ebert, who was the guiding force to our immigrant family when they came over from Germany to the United States.  Through marriage, our last name is different now, but when we decided to build a craft brand, we knew we wanted to make Grandma proud and she continues to be our guiding force.  If Grandma Ebert wouldn’t think it was up to par, we won’t do it. http://vonebertbrewing.com/

About Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival

The Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival was founded in 2013 and held at Saraveza, their Bad Habit Room and expanded into the street with a covered tent. In it’s 5+ years the festival has grown to the largest in the pacific northwest and represents more than fifty beers and dozens and dozens of American Farmhouse breweries from across the country. Hosted by Saraveza, the organizers goal is to be the ultimate showcase for the new wave of American Farmhouse beers and be an approachable forum to discover what makes the broad style so interesting and complex. Each year the festival welcomes new breweries and more improvements to the experience.

The 2019 Farmhouse Fest will be revamped for a new location at Glendoveer Golf Course with Von Ebert Brewing’s Eastside pub on April 6-7th. http://portlandfarmhousefest.com/
