Portland, OR – The Hawthorne Boulevard will be filled with holiday cheer on Saturday, December 1 from 11-4 PM as it celebrates its Third Annual Holiday Stroll.
Businesses put up festive decorations, offer shopping incentives, and raffles with proceeds that benefit a local charity. Last year, the Hawthorne Boulevard Business Association (HBBA) raised over $700 for Sunnyside School and more than $3000 for FISH. This year’s activities will support the efforts by Habitat for Humanity and the wreath’s on display at businesses will once again support Sunnyside School.
Participating businesses will be raffling wreaths filled with gifts and prizes and donating a portion of sales to Habitat for Humanity. The HBBA will host a main event tent at Fred Meyer on the second floor parking lot. Centennial Middle School, Buckman School, Laurelhurst School and School of Rock will be putting on one heck of a show! Look for special events, deals and discounts going on up and down the Boulevard. ZipCar will also be offering driving credits or membership discounts with proof of a receipt from a Hawthorne merchant location. Visit the ZipCar booth inside the Fred Meyer main lobby area.
After shopping, join Habitat for Humanity over at Bazi Bierbrasserie (SE 32nd Avenue & Hawthorne) for the official post-shopping holiday party. Enjoy Happy Hour till 7 PM and live music from Inspirational Beets starting at 8 PM. Minors are welcome until 9 PM.
The Hawthorne Holiday Stroll is brought to you by the following sponsors: Bazi Bierbrasserie, Fred Meyer, Mag Big, Memento PDX, Mink, New Seasons Market, Presents of Mind, and ZipCar.
