Willful Pinot Noir released! Picnic in the Vineyard this Sunday!

Willful Wine 2011 Pinot Noir will be ready to ship Monday 24th September!  This is it!!!! Finally!!! The first wine from the estate vineyard!!!

Yep, I’m just a little bit excited about it.

The flavors are classic Dundee Hills – earthy, mineral, floral, and really fruity. Young vines tend to be very enthusiastic, bursting forth with vibrant fruitfulness, and I think that’s the overriding characteristic of this young wine. I harvested 6.9 tons of grapes, twelves different clones, fermented in five small open top fermentors using native yeasts, and ended up with 370 cases of wine. That isn’t a lot of wine, and a good half of it is going in small allocations to my distributors, so if you’d like some, I encourage you to order soon.

Unfortunately, the vineyard walk had to be rescheduled for later in the month. 

PICNIC THIS SUNDAY:

On Sunday 30th September from 2 to 5pm we’d like to invite you to come and check out the estate vineyard and taste the grapes before they’re harvested (probably the week after given the weather we’re having).
