Yamhill Valley enthusiastically welcomes new restaurant
McMinnvile, OR. – January 15, 2013 – McMinnville’s latest culinary endeavor from partners Scott Cunningham and Chef Jesse Kincheloe has officially opened its doors at 2580 SE Stratus Avenue. Welcoming diners seven days a week for lunch and Tuesday – Saturday for dinner, Walnut City Kitchen has been thoroughly supported by locals and visitors alike in the initial days of its operation.
“We were sold out in about 36 hours,” commented General Manager and Partner, Scott Cunningham, speaking of opening night reservations. “Our regulars at Community Plate couldn’t wait to taste Jesse’s dishes. Everyone was overwhelmingly supportive. It was pretty amazing.”
Jesse Kincheloe – Executive Chef at local breakfast/lunch favorite, Community Plate, and Cunningham’s partner in Walnut City Kitchen – has created an approachable menu featuring some of the same farmers and area producers that supply Community Plate. The Short Rib Sandwich with red onion marmalade and the McK Ranch 1/3 lb. Burger with fried shallots and pickled green tomatoes are popular with lunch guests. The dinner menu includes a Cider Braised Bone-in Pork Chop with sweet potato and Brussels sprout hash and a Foraged Mushroom Pasta dressed with sage and cream. Lunch items are $12 or less and most dinner plates top out at $18. A balanced wine and beer list from Sommelier, Andrew Smith, and casual but polished service completes a well-rounded dining experience.
