Hi folks!
You were likely among the special guests at the whirlwind weekend, the vegan lovefest, if you will, that was the first Vida Vegan Con, way back in August 2012. We thank you, thank you, thank you!
We don’t like to crowd your inbox, so it’s been a while, but we have some exciting updates and super important information below about the future.
We have two events currently planned for the 2012-2013 year ahead. First up: The one, the only, Vida Vegan Bloggers Conference is taking place May 24-26, 2013, at the Portland Art Museum (even more centrally located in downtown Portland). That’s right, we made the big decision and will be returning to ‘the vegan mecca’ for THREE days of classes, vegan food, community, events, and more (and look for us to head to the Windy City, Chicago, in August 2014!).
SO IMPORTANT, SO SOON:
We are opening pre-registration for Vida Vegan Con this Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 12 noon PST. As a gesture of appreciation to our devotees, the first 100 tickets will be available at the Early Bird rate of $200. This will be first come, first served. You can read more about pre-registration and what this includes here. Please do–and feel free to share!
Whether you attended, spoke, or sponsored, we’d love to see you there and appreciate your help in getting the word out!
Team VVC is currenting finalizing our speaking roster, and will have those official announcements so very soon, in addition to an early conference agenda and list of in-development topics. We’re no longer accepting speaker applications, so if you have a great idea for a topic that you’d like to see in the future, send it our way for consideration or hold onto it for Chicago’s open call for speakers.
Hey, it just may be on the in-progress agenda already.
We’d also love to know of any sponsors you’d like to see getting involved, especially for the quickly filling 2013 SWAG bags. Feel free to send them our way, or simply let us know their name.
Our current sponsors are already listed here–show ’em some love.
WHAT’S NEW WITH YOU?
With that, please feel free to get in touch and let us know about any updates you’ve had since the first Vida Vegan Con—did you start a new website? Did you launch a new product? Do you have a cookbook coming out? Are you appearing on Ellen? Are you Ellen? We’d love to know and share on a future post of alumni round-ups. Make sure to send your name, past involvement with VVC, future involvement, appropriate links, and the news.
Here’s the official Vida Vegan Con 2013 Press Release. If you decide to write about the upcoming con, please let us know!
And gosh, feel free to grab a badge and show some Vida Vegan pride.
ONE DAY, BABY
As for our other exciting event news, thanks to comment cards and feedback from the first conference—and throughout the year—we decided to open a series of one-day, focused seminars. We all know that we’d like to see more and more in the conference weekend, and sometimes, there just isn’t time to do everything, especially when you’d love to go to a talk in the same time slot.
The focus of our first one-day seminar will be the technical aspects of making the most of your online presence and blogging. This will be an intensive day of classes for a limited group of 50 attendees. Topics are set to include strategic social networking, design, basic coding, and incorporating audio/video into your blog.
Registration is $150/person and is currently set to open July 20, 2012, at VidaVeganCon.com. This fee covers the day of classes, a coursebook, a notebook, and a sure to be delicious lunch. Speakers and class titles will be released soon. We will also have very limited sponsorship opportunities.
My, what a busy year ahead!
Have a question? Want to get more involved? We’d love to hear from you!
