Jenn’s Caramelized Onion Dip
This is one of the most popular recipe requests we get this time of year. If you are entertaining at home for the big game, here’s Jenn’s Caramelized Onion Dip recipe. It is addictive and delicious!
Caramelized Onion Dip
3 yellow onions, cut in half and sliced thinly
2T olive oil
16 oz sour cream
Warm olive oil and melt butter in medium pan that will hold sliced onions. Add onions and cook slowly over medium heat until onions are caramelized and golden. If onions seem to be getting to dark or drying out, reduce heat on pan. When nicely caramelized, add 2T water and stir to deglaze caramelization on bottom of pan. Allow to cool completely.
In a food processor, combine onions and sour cream and blend until onions are chopped finely, but still have some texture. Season with kosher salt.
