Nothing says “holiday season” like a perfectly baked pie, and no one in town bakes pies quite like Random Order Pier Bar. For years Random Order has been Portland’s premiere go-to for nutty, boozy, creamy, sweet and savory pies. Random Order is now taking orders for specialty Thanksgiving Pies; don’t hesitate, these pies go fast!
This year Random Order is celebrating their local partnerships and offering pies like ‘New Deal’ Coffee Liquor Cream Pie, ‘Old World Apple Farm’ Apple Pie and SDF-PDX Salted Pecan Pie (made with Temperance Trader Bourbon). Also available will be Spirited Pumpkin Pie and Tahitian-Vanilla Salted Caramel Apple Pie. Each pie serves 8 and costs $35; $5 will be refunded if the glass pie plate is returned within 14 days. Any of these pies will be the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table, an ideal gift for other Thanksgiving tables, for holiday parties, or even to spruce up a weeknight meal.
Random Order will be taking phone-in or in-person orders through Saturday, November 17th. Ordering early is strongly recommended as these pies are all made by hand in a small hard-working kitchen. Payment will be due when you place your order and a friendly Random Order employee will help you schedule a pick up time between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning at the pie bar located at 1800 NE Alberta. Please call 971.340.6995 to place your order.
To honor the season of giving, owner Tracy Olson would like to share her recipe for the ‘New Deal’ Coffee Liquor Cream Pie. This pie sinfully combines vanilla pastry cream spiked with New Deal’s coffee liquor and a vanilla infused whipped topping all piled high in a perfectly baked crust. This recipe is one your readers will cherish all year long.
Random Order is a pie bar as eclectic as its clientele who come and go all day for the perfect slice of pie, cocktails and conversation. Since it’s opening nearly a decade ago, Portlander’s from all walks of life have flocked in to enjoy a variety of pies made from scratch with hand-formed, all-butter crusts. Founded on the philosophy of brining people together for the love of pie, Tracy is extending this philosophy beyond the pie bar by offering pies to go as well as this wonderful recipe this Thanksgiving.
