Summer had been Uptown Billiards Club’s worst season for the first 15 years we were open, but when the City doubled the width of our sidewalk, everything changed.
Did you know?…
that each of our tables had their legs custom-welded so that the table tops could be perfectly flat on the uneven sidewalk?
we’ve installed a camera system over our door so that someone behind the bar can see you sit down and therefore you don’t need to come upstairs to “check in?”

Uptown Billiards is being featured in Wine Spectator’s “Market Watch” trade magazine this coming month. Somehow, they got word that we’ve figured out how to pair all those esoteric French wines to our five-course tasting menus.
100,000 people voted UBC as the #1 “BEST FOOD” restaurant in Portland for the 3rd month in a row. (click here if you don’t believe me) We also got top-10 honors for “Best Service,” and “Best Overall Restaurant.”
POOL LESSONS?
For the first time in years, I am being bombarded by people asking for pool lessons. I would be happy to put together a class over the summer. If you would be interested in learning how to play or how to play better, reply to this email with “Pool Lessons” in the subject line. I’ll get back to you within a week to figure out which class would be best for you (and your friend(s)) who you can talk into joining you.
