Seafood Paella with Marinated Olive and Cauliflower Salad and House Made Bread
Having paella on Sundays is a big tradition in Valencia, Spain. While you can enjoy paella any day of the week at Lapellah, this Sunday we are preparing a special seafood paella in honor of this Valencian tradition.
There are two keys to making an amazing paella (which gets its name from the pan it is cooked in.) The first is using a great paella rice. We are using Matiz Valenciano. Matiz Valenciano is a short grain rice with great absorption qualities that takes on all of the other flavors of the dish. The second is using real saffron. Real saffron gives paella its a deep golden yellow color and characteristic aroma.
With Matiz Valenciano and real saffron as our base, we are adding fresh sea bass, shrimp, mussels, prized Spanish Iberico ham, piquillo peppers and cippolini onions and serving it up in “la paella” for two!
A marinated olive and cauliflower salad and a special bread from pastry chef Eric will accompany supper.

Supper is served family style and starts at 4 p.m.
$20 per person for parties of 2 or more.
