The Team at Mitchell Wines is sorry to inform you of some very sad news about Peter Wood. We learned this morning that Peter passed away last night due to complications from his heart attack a couple of weeks ago. He was at Providence Medical Center, and his sister and his daughter were by his side.
Peter was a great friend and colleague, and a very important member of the Mitchell Wines Family. He has been with Mitchell since our beginning in 2004. He has been a part of the Oregon wine community for decades and was well-known and connected to our vast group of restaurateurs, sommeliers, wine buyers, importers and consumers alike. He was loved by many, and we will all miss him very, very much.
Peter’s family is beginning to plan a memorial that they hope to hold fairly soon. I will send another email within the next several days providing the details of this gathering as soon as the information is available.
