Argyle’s founding winemaker, Rollin Soles shifts positions and decides to focus on his family winery, ROCO, owned by he and wife Corby Stonebraker-Soles. Rollin remains with Argyle Winery as consulting winemaker beginning March 1, 2013.
Soles spent 27 years as Argyle’s chief winemaker and general manager to establish and build the successful Oregon wine brand.
In 2003, the Soles began their own wine label, ROCO, built their winery in 2009 and added new offices and a beautiful, wine country tasting room in October 2012. Over the last 10 years, ROCO has developed a reputation as a premium Oregon winery, consistently garnering praise from major wine publications and industry leaders, in addition to wine lovers throughout North America.
ROCO’s production is 3200-4,000 cases per year dependant upon the vintage. The 2011 vintage introduces two new ROCO wines to the public for a total of five Oregon Pinot Noirs and a Chardonnay.
“It’s time for me to make ROCO Winery a priority and step away from day-to-day management at Argyle while I’ll still maintain a strong hand in both the wines and vines of Argyle, says Soles. “After 34 years in the industry, I finally get to concentrate on what I love to do, the brilliant craft of winegrowing and winemaking.”
