Creates a Unique Cocktail Cooking Class
Parties That Cook Pairs Cooking with Cocktails at New Portland Mixology Class
Portland, OR – May 1, 2012 – Parties That Cook®, the mobile culinary events company specializing
in corporate team building activities and cooking parties, announced a new partnership with Portland’s
Bull Run Distilling Company (http://www.bullrundistillery.com/index.html). The two companies team up
for their first public event, Cooking with Cocktails, on May 18th. In addition to a lively culinary
demonstration and hands-on cooking session with guidance from professional chefs, guests learn the
mixology behind the 5 hand-crafted cocktails paired with the evening’s menu of gourmet international
small plates.
According to Parties That Cook Founder and CEO, Bibby Gignilliat, “Mixology is so hot right now.
We’re thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Bull Run and incorporate delicious, seasonal cocktails
into our classic cooking class format.” The mixology session will be given by Bull Run Distilling Co.’s
co-founder, Patrick Bernards. A passionate cook himself, Patrick is a corporate convert to the world of
small-batch, craft sprits distilling. His new life has him working with some of the best bartenders on the
west coast and he’s eager to share the lessons he’s learned.
At Cooking with Cocktails, guests are greeted with an appetizer, a nametag, and a sample of one of the
cocktails they will later learn to make. Parties That Cook Northwest Manager and Chef, Carolyn Davis,
will introduce the recipes and present culinary tips and tricks to build anticipation for the cooking. Bull
Run Distilling Company will then take the reins for a cocktail demonstration, explaining the basics of
mixology and walking guests through the creation of 5 unique cocktails s they will also get to sample.
Guests will work in small groups to prepare recipes like Ahi Tuna Tartare in Toasted Won Ton Cups and
Mexican Chocolate Fudge Brownies with Cinnamon Whipped Cream, and rotate through a hands-on
mixology station, all while listening to upbeat music. Once the cooking portion is over, the group savors
their culinary creations together. Guests receive commemorative digital photos and copies of the recipes
so they can recreate the dishes and cocktails at home.
Singles, couples and groups of friends can find tickets to this exciting and educational premiere of
Cooking with Cocktails on May 18, 2012 online or by calling 1-888-907-2665. Cost: $95 per person.
Space is limited and cooking experience is not required.
