Olympic Provisions and Double Mountain Brewery Collaborate on Hoppy Beer Dinner

Six exquisite beers from the award winning Hood River brewery to be paired alongside OP Southeast Chef Alex Yoder’s cuisine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDouble Mountain Brewery and Olympic Provisions, two award-winning Oregon establishments known for incredible beer and out-of-this world charcuterie, are pairing up to create a beer dinner at Olympic Provisions Southeast (OPSE) November 18 at 6pm.

The dinner combines Double Mountain’s diverse array of craft brews and OPSE Chef Alex Yoder’s playful take on Oregon’s bounty of fall ingredients.

Family style seating will begin with a smorgasbord of charcuterie and two polar-opposite Double Mountain beers: the crisp, refreshing Kolsch and the rich winter celebration Fa La La La La. After a meet and greet, guests will be seated for a four-course food and drink explosion.

The first course will pair the standout Killer Green – a fresh hop IPA that delivers herbal notes reminiscent of mint and oregano – with roasted delicata squash, Honeycrisp apples, goat gouda, hazelnuts and mustard greens.

The hop-a-palooza continues in the second course, where a Belgian endive salad, orange segments, orange reduction and crispy duck confit will be paired with a Killer Red Fresh Hop IRA, a beer that plays off the food with hints of orange, pine and apple.

What’s an Olympic Provisions dinner without pork? The event’s main course features pork loin, kielbasa and braised radicchio, a dish served best when sipping Double Mountain’s staple Hop Lava, a deliciously light IPA that still packs a punch.

Finally, a citrus tartlet with meringue and a lemon-semolina cookie will be accompanied by Double Mountain’s Vaporizer. The dry-hopped pale ale that is clean and crisp on the palate pairs perfectly with the tart meringue.

Cost for the dinner is 65$ per person. To book your seat, call 954-3663 or email reservations@olympicprovisions.com.

About Olympic Provisions

Olympic Provisions is home to Oregon’s first USDA-approved salumeria and evolved into two Portland restaurants that feature Spanish-Mediterranean and French cooking on both sides of the Willamette River. The salumeria opened in 2009 in Southeast Portland and eventually a second, bigger location that now serves as the hub of charcuterie making is housed in the back of their Northwest restaurant. Salumist Elias Cairo’s meats are made using high-quality ingredients for wholesale to grocery stores, restaurants and wine bars – they can also be purchased at either of their restaurants or online. Olympic Provisions eventually blossomed into two restaurants, which highlight Oregon’s seasonal bounty and Cairo’s renowned meats. Olympic Provisions Southeast, Northwest’s older brother, was the company’s first venture into the restaurant world, and features Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine that combines food with clean, bold flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Both locations offer booking for your private event.

About Double Mountain

Matt Swihart and Charlie Devereux founded Double Mountain in 2007 with a clear mission: make great beer for craft beer fans. Ours is a “brewers’ brewery”, with an uncompromising focus on beer quality. From the beginning, their goal was to make beers they liked to drink. All of Double Mountain’s beers are served up unfiltered and long-aged, to deliver maximum flavor and character. The beers can be very complex and assertive, but with the ultimate goal of proper balance.
