This month brings out the best of root vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, hearty greens, and pumpkins. You’ll also find a variety of greens like mustard, collard, kale and chard.
Favorite fruits include apples, pears, and quince, as well as early season citrus.
The cold winter wind and short, dark days put us in the mood for a warm and hearty meal. Take advantage of the season’s star root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, onions and turnips and create a roasted root vegetable medley to complement your meal.
For the entree, feature a succulent roast that yields to the fork. A bright salad of peppery greens with a hazelnut vinaigrette would be a light and easy starter for meal. And for dessert? We like a warm caramel apple cobbler with crème anglaise. Happy Eating!

Try this winter warming Red Curry and Butternut Squash Soup this holiday season. Jeremy Niehuss created this crowd-pleaser a few years back and we still get requests for the recipe. We wanted to share it with you too.
