New Japanese Restaurant Offers SE Belmont Traditional Favorites With Local Ingredients

PORTLAND, Oregon (May 4, 2012) – Hokusei is proud to announce our grand opening Tuesday May 8th, 2012.  We hope to provide Southeast Portland and the surrounding areas the ultimate experience in traditional Japanese sushi and cuisine.  This April expect bold flavors with an emphasis on freshness, using local ingredients whenever possible.

Executive Chef Kaoru Ishii will be creating traditional Japanese dishes yet to be approached among Portland’s restaurant scene.  Ishii from Tokyo, Japan has over two decades of culinary experience from top restaurants in Japan, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.   Ishii approaches his unique dishes with creativity using only the highest quality ingredients that result in premium freshness and taste.

Located in Southeast Portland’s Belmont neighborhood, just a few blocks away from busy coffee shops, teahouses and bars, right next door to Slappy Cakes.
