Portland, Oregon — March 23, 2012 – Morning Brewtender LLC, which opened outside Macy’s at Meier & Frank Square on January 16, offers more than the average independent coffee shop. The sidewalk café proudly serves the award-winning Portland Roasting Coffee alongside an array of hearty and healthy treats such as biscuits and sausage gravy, warm ham-‘n-cheese croissants, giant soft pretzels, fruit smoothies, and a recently created signature “Thai Latte” or “Dirty Thai Latte,” which is creamy with hints of curry and spices similar to a chai latte. Coffee prices start at $1 per cup.
Morning Brewtender at Macy’s is owned and operated by Melody Lydy and Meighan Holder. The shop has been a dream of theirs and was years in the making. “I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and I am so happy to be part of the downtown Portland community. Every day brings something new and exciting and I love the downtown vibe!” said Lydy.
The duo makes a great team with Holder as the business manager and Lydy as the operations manager and creative force. Lydy, with her talented team of “Brewtenders” are ready to serve Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 pm and 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, beginning in May. Their slogan and motto is “Shots Happen!”
Morning Brewtender is a half block from Pioneer Courthouse Square in the heart of the retail district. Located on the 6th Avenue side of the downtown Macy’s store between SW Morrison and Alder Streets, Morning Brewtender caters to shoppers, Tri-met riders, tourists, walkers, and business workers. The sidewalk café offers limited seating inside and outside.
