Lobster is always a treat! It has a unique flavor that is both light and robust. Chef Justin Woodward talks a little about the process of creating our lobster dish: “First, we grill lobster tails gently. Then we make an umami rich broth with matsutake mushrooms, seaweed, and lobster shells. We steep this broth with herbs such as basil, tarragon, and chives.” The consommé is also gently broken with butter to make it soft and rich on the tongue- perfect for a chilly winter evening!
We serve the lobster with chopsticks and encourage our patrons to sip the savory broth. There is something about sipping warm broth from a bowl that harkens to feelings of comfort, health, and abundance! We hope you’ll find time to visit Castagna while we still have this mouth-watering dish on our tasting menu!

Additionally, we are excited to announce our second themed dinner of 2017 over in Café Castagna!
For one week starting on the 22nd of February we will be serving the classic Alsatian meal Choucroute Garnie! Choucroute garnie means ‘dressed sauerkraut’ and is traditionally served with sausages and potatoes. We will certainly be following with tradition and you can expect to see bratwurst, frankfurters, and boudin blanc graced with a bed of warm sauerkraut. As before, we will be offering this as the main course of a three-course meal for $40.
If you care to join us for our communal kick-off dinner on Wednesday the 22nd at 6:30, make sure you call ahead to book your seat (seats are limited)! The rest of the week we will have a set number servings each evening, so book your reservation early!
