Hello friends, have you gotten back into the swing of things following the holidays? It’s tough, we know. What helps is Tap It Tuesdays, and tonight’s at 6pm is amazing: LIVE Rum Cointreau. This live NW style sour was aged more than 15 months in rum barrels then aged on sweet orange zest for another seven months. Aromas of tart orange peel, sweet malts and rum are the first to be noticed. Tart notes of orange and rum dance on the palate, then give way to a subtle rum-influenced finish with a bright citrus note. This bright ray of sour sunshine might seem like a summer sipper, but au contraire… 12.15% ABV, $7.5 glass, $3 taster.

We’re still looking for a late month release for Vlad the Imp Aler; and yes, it will be sold online! Look for Bourbonic Plague in the spring, also online.

Stay tuned for info on the Tart Fruit Fest, likely February 28th. Here is a sample of some of the beers we have saved for this event: Pater (Cherry), Blackberry, Apple, Blueberry Bourbonic, Cherry Vlad, Strawberry, and several blends of blends. More details to come in future eblasts!

Chef Troy has some delicious specials this week, available beginning tonight at 5pm until they run out. This week’s specials include Cornbread with Honey Butter ($1), handcrafted roasted red bell pepper-dill cornbread served warm with local clover honey butter; Escargot Classique ($5), pan sautéed in compound garlic-parsley-shallot butter and served with grilled ciabatta toast points; French Dip Slider ($5.5), house-smoked roast beef, Diesel Stout/Dork Fat caramelized onion & Gruyere cheese on toasted ciabatta dressed with horseradish spread and served with au jus; and Pickled Quail Eggs & Speck ($8), local quail eggs (dill & sweet) with Speck (cured pork), fruit compote, Portland Ale crackers & our famous whipped Dork Fat.

 

Soup is House Beer Cheese (daily), French Onion w/croutons & Gruyere (Tues-Thur) and Clam Chowder (weekends, while supplies last).
