Live Noyaux on tap

Happy October! Join us for tomorrow’s Tap It Tuesday at 6 pm for LIVE: Noyaux. This NW style sour ale features blonds and triples aged on oak for 18 to 24 months, then additionally aged for 12 months on raspberries and apricot noyaux. Sweet raspberry fruit, rose petals, almond and vanillin are noticed up front. Tart raspberries, oak and a soft almond note on the tongue lead to a finish of rich, tart raspberries with lingering hints of almond and maraschino cherries. 8.94% ABV / $7 Glass / $2.5 Taster.

If you can’t make it in person but want to check out our Tap It Tuesdays, follow Cascade Brewing Barrel House on Google+. Join the Hangout before with insights from Head Blender Preston Weesner, then watch the tapping broadcast live at 6pm. You can also check out past tappings on our YouTube channel – Cascade Brewing Barrel House.

The Noyaux blend is now bottle conditioning – look for a very limited release with no distribution (sorry) near the end of the month. Kriek 2011 is bottle conditioning and is ready for labels, it will be released soon!

We love our sour beers, but that’s not all we create here at Cascade. Now on tap at the Barrel House, enjoy Autumnal Ale, a fiery orange, spiced Belgian ale that evokes the harvest with sweet malt, spice and citrus in the nose. Starting tomorrow, try our Alt Haus Rauch, featuring a rich, malty cold smoke that rises from the glass, buoyed up by spicy hop aromas in a Corinthian red leather colored ale; and our outstanding Fresh Hop Porter, which melds earthy/loamy hop and fruity, dark malt aromas in a brown hued porter. Less than an hour from field to kettle, the Nugget hops maintain the peppery spicy note of the bine in the finish.

We still have barrels for sale, mostly Bourbon & a few wine. Prices slashed to $20 each: get then now for the fall rains, or we will burn them in a open bonfire of glory! These are for water barrels or planters; they are retired barrels that have been sitting outside for a few weeks and are not meant for brewing. Available Wed-Fri this week from 9 to 5 pm.

This week’s Barrel House food specials include an Italian Beef Sandwich ($8) with house-smoked Italian roast beef, sautéed green bell pepper & onion, and mozzarella cheese, served on ciabatta bread, and accompanied by our pickled assortment; Fresh Linguine w/Razor Clam Sauce ($8.5), featuring fresh linguine tossed with white razor clam sauce, served with ciabatta toast points & fresh oregano; Pickled Quail Eggs & Speck ($8), our house specialty of sweet & dill pickled quail eggs paired with Speck (smoked, cured pork), house compote, Portland Ale crackers & our famous whipped Dork Fat; and Blueberry Sour Cream Cheese Pie ($3), a graham cracker crust striped with Blueberry Sour Pie Kriek compote, speckled with Oregon blueberries, drizzled with Diesel cherry reduction and served with dark chocolate Kriek ganache. Have a great week – Servus!
