Ready for some tastings? We thought you might be, so we’ve planned some fun flights for the month of July, including two special winery guests and a trio of Friday tastings.
As for this week, we will be closed July 4th and July 5th, so if you need to stock up for the holiday weekend, come see us today or Saturday from 11am-7pm.
But if you want somewhere to taste this Friday, Darryl will be pouring VIOLA wines at Enso Winery at 1416 SE Stark from 6pm-8pm as he rolls out his new releases to more points across Portlandia. Come check out a new venue and meet our PDX Urban Wineries friends at Enso!
Have a great 4th of July!

SPECIAL WINERY VISITORS:
Brian McCormick – MEMALOOSE WINERY
Thursday, July 11th * 5pm – 7pm * Tasting Fee
We are thrilled to have Brian McCormick from Memaloose Winery out in the Columbia Gorge visiting us at the shop to pour his latest releases. Restraint is the signature
style of this winery which has vineyards on both sides of the Columbia River. Brian will share his passion for cool-climate sites with you as he talks about his Riesling, Barbera, Primitivo, Mistral Rhone blend and his most recognized bottling, the Cabernet Franc from Idiot’s Grace vineyard in Mosier. This special tasting will be $5 for the flight of 5 wines, waived with the purchase of 2 or more bottles of Memaloose the night of the event. Mark your calendar and join us! To learn more about Memaloose, click on the video link above from the Vinestories website that our friend Bob Wittenberg put together.
RIOJA TASTING with DINASTIA VIVANCO
Wednesday, July 17th * 5pm – 7pm * Free
A special visitor from Spain will be at the shop on this Wednesday to pour current releases from her Rioja estate, Dinastia Vivanco. Come check out Blanco, Rosado and a killer Crianza red.

FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHTS
All tastings below from 4pm-7pm
Come early for your best chance to taste all the selections featured at our Friday tastings. We pour until the bottles are empty, or 7pm, whichever happens first.
Friday, July 12th
Molto Interesante Bianco Italiano!
That’s right, it’s time for some Indigenous Italians and this time we’re pouring new white arrivals from Italy that we think you’ll agree are very interesting indeed! Come get to know grapes like Petite Arvine, Pecorino, Pigato and a few others that might not start with P! $10 Main Flight fee*
Friday, July 19th
Oregon Pinot Noir
When was the last time we poured Oregon Pinot for a Friday tasting? We can’t remember so it’s been too long. And given that IPNC kicks off next week and everyone will be talking about it, here’s a good chance to get familiar with some of the latest releases so you can join the conversation with some personal experience!
$12 Main Flight* + Bonus pours expected.
Friday, July 26th
Mourvedre, Mo’ Better!
The Mourvedre grape is native to Southern France and most notably used in Rhone blends and in the wines of Bandol. Lately, we keep bumping into new domestic versions we find quite compelling, so for this week’s Friday Night Flight, we’re going to shuffle up our own mix-tape of flavors and offer a couple from France and a couple from the US in a little head-to-head battle of the continents. Come join us. $12 Main Flight fee* + Bonus Pours!
*Main Flight fee waived for cork club members (limit 2 per week per account, member must be present).
Focus on Southern Rhone
Wed, 7/31 . 6pm . $15
Do you enjoy our Friday tastings but wish you had more time to learn about the wines we’re pouring and get a greater understanding of winemakers, regions, soil types, geography and all the other fun and nerdy stuff about the world of wine? Then Wine Wednesdays are for you.
These short-form classes take about an hour, feature a flight of at least 5 wines and include some wine education all in one tasty sit-down session in our private tasting room. Space is limited to 16 people, so make sure you sign up. Then join us to learn something new.
For July, our Wine Wednesday will feature the Wines of the Rhone Valley. Barbecue season is in full swing and learning about the hearty red and white blends of the Southern Rhone should fuel your fire to pick the vino for your next gathering.
Wine Wednesday tasting fee is $15 and includes special pricing on the wines offered during the tasting. For a seat at the table, please call us at 503.281.2675 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. A credit card is requested to confirm your reservation and we kindly request 24 hour notice of cancellation to avoid being charged should your plans change.
PASTA Coming & Going
We’re thrilled to have just received another shipment of the incomparable Martelli pasta from outside of Pisa, but to make room for those pretty yellow bags of durham wheat dreams, we need to move on from our current pasta inventory from House of Balsamic.
So, for the month of July – while supplies last – you can score some of the fine artisinal House of Balsamic pasta at 30% off the regular price. That makes them just $4.90/pound for the Penne, Festoni, Spaghetti and Elicoidali wheat shapes and $6.30/pound for the hearty (and gluten-free) Farro Penne. Come and get it!
