Hello fans of cork!

First, I’d like to thank all of you who voted for us in the Portlandfoodanddrink.com Reader’s Survey and selected us as Portland’s Best Wine Shop by a landslide vote. Your appreciation for what we do is why we love coming to work everyday. We’ll keep working hard to do the best we can to serve your wine, beer, chocolate and specialty food needs.
Speaking of chocolate, Ms. Sarah Hart just delivered a bundle of fresh mini-bars, chocolate bark, toffees and a small amount of salted lavendar caramels and both peanut butter cups from her divine Alma Chocolate shop. While Sarah works to keep up and expand her business, we’ve been patiently waiting for a restock. She’s still working on a new production kitchen, so supplies will be hit and miss through the Summer but we look forward to having something to tempt you with from one of Portland’s best local chocolatiers whenever we can.
This week’s tasting news. It’s all about Piedmont, that magical land in Italy’s Northwest where hazelnuts grow on trees and bottles of Barbera, Barolo and Barbaresco adorn every dinner table. One of our importers with a growing, impressive selection of Piedmont producers will be pouring tomorrow night, so come join us for some sipping sensation.

Finally, due to my delayed Wednesday newsletter coming out on Thursday, Bar Lolo has offered to honor Free Corkage Night for customers bringing a bottle from cork tonight, so stop by and I’ll show you the new Spanish arrivals that would go perfectly with tapas across the street.

See you soon!
