Today & tomorrow at Sidebar, we’re serving up Fleming Red, a blend of Lompoc Wheat Wine, Stout Out Loud, Proletariat Red, and a red ale aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 10 months; Stargell Stars IPA, dry-hopped in the fermenter with Saaz hops for a spicy coriander flavor and aroma; Kick Axe Dry Hopped Pale Ale; Bourbon Barrel Aged C-sons Greetings, brewed in Feb. 2011, aged in Heaven Hills Bourbon barrels for seven months, then cellared for one more; Lolampoc Clan, a blend of Wee Lola, LSD, Old Tavern Rat, and Port barrel aged Le Chat Noir; and guest tap Lucky Lab BENevolant Dictator, a mild ale with a little extra hop kick from a touch of wheat and crystal malt.

It’s a busy weekend for Lompoc: Head Brewer Bryan will be pouring Proletariat Red and Monster Mash at Feast Portland Grand Tasting at Pioneer Courthouse Square from 2 to 5 pm today, and at the Feast Portland Night Market at the Ecotrust Building from 6 to 9 pm tonight. Tomorrow, the Portland Timbers face Real Salt Lake in Utah at 5 pm – grab a Kick Axe and watch the game at Sidebar, the Fifth Quadrant or Oaks Bottom. And on Sunday, Irena will be pouring Kick Axe and Stout Out Loud at Skamania Lodge’s Celebration of Beer Weekend. Meet Irena at the Kegs and Eggs Buffet from 9 am to 2 pm.
The SCRAPpy Hour at Sidebar is next Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Sidebar from 4 to 8 pm. We’re joining forces with SCRAP to present a night of crafts-craft beer and crafty projects. We’ll be offering beer, wine and spirits at happy hour prices, plus serving complimentary appetizers at 5 pm. Lompoc will donate 25% of sales from the evening to SCRAP’s annual craft competition and fundraiser, Rebel Craft Rumble. SCRAP will have a free crafting table with different projects that inspire creative reuse.
Be sure to put the Monster Mash release party on your calendar: Friday, October 5th at Sidebar. We’ll have both Monster Mash and Bourbon Barrel Aged Monster Mash in bottles and on draft. It will also be the release for the winners of the Timbers Army 107ist Homebrew Competition, a CDA.
Tabor Tavern in SE Portland will host its first Brewers Dinner on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 pm. Lompoc Head Brewer Bryan will join Tabor Tavern chef Chris Greer for an autumn inspired feast featuring four courses and four beers, including Monster Mash. We’re also excited to be doing a Brewers Dinner with 10 Barrel Brewing out of Bend on October 27 at Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte. Even more exciting? Head Brewer Bryan and Brewmaster Tonya Cornett of 10 Barrel are pairing their beers with a four-course meal prepared by Brasada Ranch’s chef Adrian Carpenter.
