Website Celebrating Inaugural Year With Multifaceted Event At Holocene July 12th, 2012
PORTLAND, OR, JULY 1st, 2012–bePortland LLC, the Portland-based daily website that covers local news, music, food/drink, lifestyle, and other culture, is celebrating its inaugural year with an anniversary party. The July 12th event starts at 8:30pm and will feature a line up of outstanding local bands, promotional giveaways provided by local businesses, and a free keg of local beer from Burnside Brewing. The event will be $6 for all attendees and will be held at Holocene, which is located at 1001 SE Morrison.
The event celebrates bePortland’s first year of bringing a new perspective to local culture. In line with bePortland’s motto, “Don’t just live here, bePortland,” locals have the option to get their information on the run so they can get out and live in the city they love. The website has experienced a lot of successful growth in its first year and has big plans for further development and new features for users in its second year.
Entertainment for the evening will include local favorites Animal Eyes playing an eclectic set of tunes. Also Fault Lines, formerly known as The Angry Orts, play their first show under their new moniker. And local group Tango Alpha Tango has been making waves through the Portland scene with their energetic stage presence. There will also be short performance art pieces curated by Research Club
In addition to the music, there will be free keg of beer provided by Burnside Brewing until it runs dry. There will also be free food for attendees to enjoy throughout the evening from local businesses Hungry Heart Cupcakes and Tapalaya.
Many local businesses that have been featured on bePortland have provided products or services to the party, which will be raffled off to attendees. These prizes range from free theatre tickets, to free brewery tours.
bePortland has also invited a handful of local businesses and organizations to show off their wares and promote their services to the community. These vendors include Apes Tapes, PDX Pop Now!, No Limits Stickers, Brewvana, Banana Stand Media, and more.
The bePortland Anniversary Party at Holocene will begin at 8:30pm July 12th, 2012. The doors will open at 8pm. The event costs $6. Holocene is located at 1001 SE Morrison Portland, OR 97214.
